Web Developer iTools Update From Tenon

by , 7:00 AM EST, February 26th, 2002

Tenon Intersystems has released an update for iTools, bringing it to version 6.5.1. iTools is a Web server tool suite designed for use by Web developers needing to configure Apache directly from the Aqua desktop. The iTools release updates Apache to version 1.3.23 in addition to other enhancements. According to Tenon Intersystems:

Tenon Intersystems announced today, iTools 6.5.1, a new version of its Apache administration tools for Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server.

Tenon's iTools Manager with its Aqua GUI enables Webmasters to set up and configure Apache directly on a local or remote Mac OS X desktop. The iTools Manager co-exists with Tenon's secure, remote, browser-based administration, enabling Webmasters to seamlessly switch between desktop management and anytime, anywhere browser-based control.

No need for Macintosh Webmasters to "learn" Apache; they can just use the knowledge they have from years of being a Mac OS Webmaster and Tenon's technology will translate their mouse clicks and table entries into terms that Apache can understand. Apache is the most widely used web server in the world; Tenon's iTools makes difficult Apache tasks easy and Apple's Aqua makes it pretty.

You can find more information about the iTools update at the Tenon Intersystems Web site. iTools 6.5.1 is available for US$399.00.

The Mac Observer Spin:

Note that Tenon's iTools existed before Apple's consumer oriented iTools.
