File Sync Utility Update fron Econ Tech

Econ Technologies has released an update for ChronoSync, bringing it to version 1.0.1. ChronoSync is a back-up file and folder syncing utility designed for connecting several devices to a network. The maintenance update addresses several performance and bug issues. According to Econ Technologies:

The first maintenance release for ChronoSync™, the automated synchronization tool for Mac® OS X, is now available. This version addresses alias and symbolic link resolution issues encountered after the program was initially released. In addition, it includes a few tweaks and enhancements. With ChronoSync you can synchronize files between folders, hard drives, removable media, laptops, file servers, or any computer.

Some of the highlights of version 1.0.1 include:

Synchronizer no longer raises an exception and aborts when encountering a symbolic link directly referencing one of it's targets

Resolving aliases to file servers during synchronization now properly displays the 'Login' dialog

File copying is now always a 'safe-style' copy i.e. copy is made to a temporary file, original is deleted and temporary file renamed to the original

Broken network connections during synchronization are now handled much better

File ownership and group membership preservation is now correctly attempted

Multiple login dialogs are no longer presented when opening a document with one or both targets on a file server

Exclusion messages no longer get posted to the log twice

A 'Skip Error Reporting' option has been added to the synchronizer

When resolving conflicts, the complete relative path of the conflicting item is now displayed.
