Old Jewel Updates Painter's Picker With Interface Mods And More
by , 3:00 PM EST, December 23rd, 2003
Old Jewel Software has released an update for Painter's Picker, bringing it to version 1.1.1. Painter's Picker is a utility designed to expand OS X's standard color picking panel. The update features interface enhancements and user mods including scroll wheel support. According to Old Jewel Software:
Old Jewel Software is proud to announce the release of version 1.1.1 of Painter's Picker, its new extension to Mac OS X's color picker panel.
Painter's Picker is an extension to the color picker panel in Mac OS X. It adds the ability to choose related colors, such as complementary colors, analogous colors, etc. directly within the color picker. It also adds more precise controls for choosing saturation, hue angle, and brightness, and provides the ability to choose colors in the CMYK color space while using the popular HSB-style controls.
Changes in version 1.1.1 include:
- Removed a checkbox that would appear in Mac OS X 10.2 as a result of legacy code. If you need to access the "draw color wheel behavior", please use the Actions menu instead
- Changed the resizing behavior of some controls for aesthetic reasons
Version 1.1.1 made several changes, including changes to the layout of the picker, bug fixes to accommodate certain programs, new user interface interactions such as scroll wheel support and dragging support, a color info menu for quick access to vital stats about a given color, and some support for web-style hex code values.
You can find more information about the Painter's Picker update at the Old Jewel Software Web site. The Painter's Picker update is free for registered users, whie tghe full version is available for US$13.85.
