Apple Launches RAM Promo For New Macs
by , 3:30 PM EST, February 25th, 2004
Apple has launched a new promo through the Apple Store Hot Deals page. It's called, simply enough, More memory for less," and as the name implies, you can get more RAM for less. Apple is offering up to US$700 off the price of RAM upgrades on Power Mac G5s, Xserve G5, iMac, and Power Mac G4. From Apple's Web site.
Terms and conditions:
- Between February 25, 2004 through March 27, 2004, customers must purchase qualifying Apple product(s) and additional RAM modules (sticks), in either 256MB, 512MB, or 1GB RAM modules (only DDR333 or DDR400 RAM modules qualify).
- This offer is valid while supplies last from the Apple Store online and savings is reflected at checkout.
- Savings will be included in the final purchase price.
- The maximum number of additional RAM modules that can be purchased per computer, is limited to open RAM slots, excluding installed base RAM.
If you hit the Apple Store Hot Deals page, the new promo is listed at the top of the page. Click through, and you'll be taken to a page with the terms and conditions and a price grid on how the savings are laid out.
The Mac Observer Spin:
Like all of the PC retailers, Apple charges way too much for RAM. That's just a part of the PC business, of course, but this new promo makes it substantially more reasonable, and we like that. This is especially important for those who simply don't want to install their own RAM.Observer Comments
