Snak Updated With Expanded Network Support

by , 7:00 AM EDT, April 28th, 2004

Kent Sorensen has released an update for Snak, bringing it to version 4.11. Snak is an IRC client app designed to allow users to create Internet discussion groups with multiple servers. The update features expanded network support and fixes bug issues. According to Ken Sorensen:

Snak is a full featured IRC client with some unique and very useful features. Snak 4.11 has now been released.

An IRC client is a program that will let you participate in discussions in Internet Relay Chat (IRC) channels. IRC channels are like meeting rooms on the Internet, where people from all over the world can meet and chat.

Version 4.11 improves support for networks that extend the IRC protocol, like the unrealirc network. Snak is now able to automatically accommodate new user modes and channel types. The helptags in the user list will display the status of the users (IRC operators, channel operators, voiced users, etc.)

4.11 also fixes a crash that could happen in some circumstances if you closed a window that only had one channel in it. It also corrects a problem with the contacts list displaying incorrect information if it was sorted on status, and two contacts on notify was detected at the same time.

You can find more information about the Snak update at the Ken Sorensen Web site. Snak 4.11 is available for US$20.00.
