Fly For A Song, Get A Free iPod Or 100 iTMS Downloads

by , 12:50 PM EDT, July 27th, 2004

Delta Airlines' low-cost subsidiary airline, Song, has announced a new promotion called "Song's Salute to 50 Years of Rock and Roll" that offers its customers either a free iPod mini, 100 free iTMS downloads, or a free Epiphone Les Paul Junior guitar. To be eligible for the premiums, customers have to book and fly round trip flights with Song. The specific offers are as follows:

  • 100 song downloads at the iTunes Music Store for customers who book one roundtrip flight;
  • One Epiphone Les Paul Junior Guitar from Gibson for customers who book two roundtrip flights in the same itinerary; and
  • One Apple iPod mini -- in Song's signature green -- for three roundtrip flights booked in the same itinerary.

The airline has also enlisted pop act Sugar Ray, who will give a free afternoon performance at South Street Seaport in New York City at 3:00 PM Eastern today. The act will sing their pop hit "Fly" as part of the performance.

For more details, including a long list of restrictions, read the full press release from Song. You can find more information about Song at the airline's Web site.

The Mac Observer Spin:

Once again, Apple's enormous and newfound clout in the music world is making its presence felt. By offering these downloads and the iPod in its promotion, Song is effectively saying that they are synonymous with "rock and roll." That's quite a statement.

My first post was sarcasm. I know about them, and know they don't cover where I went.
