Mac Browser Watch - OmniWeb 5.0.1 Released

The Omni Group has released OmniWeb 5.0.1, an update to its Mac-only, WebCore-based browser. Version 5.0.1 includes a fix for a history big, a security update from libpng, and updated help files. From the release notes:

Changes
  • A bug that prevented History indexing from working as intended has been corrected.
  • Our internal libpng library (used to handle PNG images) has been updated (to libpng version 1.2.6 - August 15, 2004) to patch recently discovered security vulnerabilities as detailed by . (Fixes CAN-2002-1363, CAN-2004-0421, CAN-2004-0597, CAN-2004-0598, CAN-2004-0599.)
  • Minor updates have been made to the Help files.

OmniWeb includes a 30-day trial. Version 5.x costs $29.95 for new users, while owners of 4.x can upgrade for $9.95.

Subject: Got it already.

Seems pretty much like 5.0, save that it hasn't crashed yet. 5.0 crashed once a day for the first week or so.

Also, the 30 day registration countdown resets itself when you get the new version.

Subject: The only thing it doesn't have...

...that I love in Safari is snapback.

I thought when I first saw the way they'd implemented tabbing that I wouldn't like it. Au contraire, now I think it's a very elegant solution.
