DV Dailies - Blackmagic Releases Device For Viewing HD On DVI Monitors

by , 2:00 PM EDT, September 28th, 2004

Blackmagic Design is now shipping the Blackmagic HDLink. The Blackmagic HDLink is a device designed for viewing HDTV video on a DVI-D based computer monitor. The device supports both SDI and HD video signals with full color detail and resolution. According to Blackmagic Design:

Blackmagic HDLink™ is the exciting way to get low cost true HDTV resolution video monitoring on DVI-D computer monitors.

HDLink™ connects post production quality SDI video directly to any supported DVI-D based LCD computer monitor for incredible true HDTV resolution video monitoring. HDLinkís extremely compact design combined with full resolution HD makes it perfect for the studio, edit suite, telecine or even location video shoots.

Because every single pixel in the SDI video standard is mapped digitally onto the pixels of a 1920 x 1200 resolution LCD display, you get a perfect digital pixel for pixel HDTV image quality display.

You can find more information about the Blackmagic HDLink at the Blackmagic Web site. The Blackmagic HDLink is available for US$695.00.
