Kingston Announces New DataTraveler USB Flash Drives

Kingston Technology Company Inc. announced on Monday three new families of USB 2.0 Flash drives that are available immediately.

The DataTraveler II features 11MB read and 7MB per second write speeds starting at 128MB for US$28, 256MB at $39, 512MB for $60 and 1GB at $107.

The DataTraveler II Plus has increased read/write speeds of 19MB and 13MB per second, respectively. Sizes include 256 megabyte for $42, 512MB at $65, 1GB for $119 and 2GB for $239.

The DataTraveler Elite includes 24MB read and 14MB per second write speeds and comes in a 256 megabyte capacity for $53, 512MB at $87, 1GB for $154 and 2GB for $288. The included TravelerSafe+ software lets users set a password access control for a private data storage area that utilizes 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) hardware-based encryption.
