Mac BU Launches 'Win Your Inner Suit' Contest

by , 9:10 AM EDT, September 29th, 2004

Microsoft's Macintosh Business Unit launched Wednesday its nationwide 'Win Your Inner Suit' sweepstakes, in which entrants can enter to win a replica action figure of themselves as a business professional.

"The inner suit is the alter ego in all Mac users who handles the business details," the company's Web site said. "Mac users are known for their creativity, but that doesn’t mean they don’t also know how to take care of business."

Through December, individuals can enter for a chance to win an inner suit replica action figure and a copy of Office 2004 for Mac. No purchase is necessary to win. More information on sweepstakes rules and privacy, as well as entry forms, is available from the Web site.

I dunno...

Maybe I've just got an over-active imagination...but this feels vaguely condescending to me.

"You're too free spirited to be a success in the business world! But that's ok! You can still be important! Here, have a toy! You like toys, don't you, you creative-type! Yay!"

I am a creative type. I do like toys. I also like doing my billing without any help from microsoft office. Or ties, for that matter. Inner suit. Good grief. What my business could really use is a faster connection. Or hosting. A few photo libraries. Media. Paper. A bad PVC likeness of myself as one of Trump's wannabees? not so much.
