MCE Ships 16X SuperDrive Upgrade; Lowers 8X Price

MCE Technologies, LLC has begun began shipping its 16x DVD-/+R/RW internal SuperDrive upgrade for Power Macs and has lowered pricing on its 8X upgrade, the company said.

The MCE 16x DVD-/+R/RW drive records up to 16x speed and to CD media at up to 32x speed. The drive is compatible with DVD Studio Pro, iDVD, iTunes, Finder Burning, and Apple DVD Player.

The drive retails for US$119 and is available for immediate shipping.

In addition, MCE also said it has lowered the price on the MCE 8x SuperDrive internal upgrade for Power Macs to $99. The 8x model records to DVD media at up to 8x speed and to CD media at up to 24x speed.

Hmm, I think I WON'T tell my father about this one yet, seeing as how I told him to buy the 8x about 4 weeks ago.

He's happy with it, why mess that up?
