by , 5:00 PM EDT, October 28th, 2004

Redstone Software has announced version 2.0 of Eggplant, the company's cross-platform testing tool for Mac OS X developers.

Eggplant automates user-experience testing, and can be run on other client machines from a Mac. The company's Web site says that "any process that a user can perform can be automated from end to end, across multiple applications, even across multiple platforms."

The new version includes several new features, including:

  • A new script-debugger
  • Autocompletion of commands
  • Functions
  • Variables and other keywords
  • One-click look up of script resources
  • Rendezvous support for automatic discovery of potential test machines on a local network

You can find more information on the product at Redstone Software's Web site. As of this writing, the company has not yet added specific information about version 2.0 of the software to its Web site. Pricing is handled through the company's sales department.
