Virex 7.5.1 Available to .Mac Members

by , 3:35 PM EST, November 22nd, 2004

.Mac members can once again download Virex 7.5 or, more specifically, Virex 7.5.1. Originally released in August, Virex 7.5 was pulled from .Mac severs a week later "due to customer feedback and technical issues currently under investigation," a note from Apple at the time said. Virex 7.5.1, available in English and Japanese, appears to have resolved those bugs. The download is 25.5MB; members can find it from the Virex option in the side-menu after logging in to .Mac.

Man...I don't WANT to be a .Mac member...I have my own web page already...I use that for e-mail...getting .Mac is just a waste of money...right?

But then they keep doing neat things like this...and the Garage Band loops over the summer...

Stop tempting me Apple!

There's a report at MacFixIt today that the update breaks Adobe Distiller.

Distiller? Yeah, no Mac user would have that, why test with Distiller?

I'll stick with the old one, thanks.

Distiller is still the best way to create pdf files for hi-res print.

Yeah, you see...at first, the ONLY thing that I would have liked from .Mac was the ability to use iSync with it. Everything else it had was interesting, but not worth any money to me.

That was it, just iSync. And that wasn't worth $100 a year to me.

But since then they keep expanding what you get with it...it's making it harder to hold out. I'm not signing up YET...but I have a feeling I won't make it very far into 2005 before I give in.

Actually, if you're listening Apple, all it would take is to lower the price to $75 a year and I'd sign up RIGHT NOW! But for $100...well, you'll probably still win me over at that price, but it'll take a few more months
