GarageKey MIDI Keyboard Made Just for GarageBand
by , 1:55 AM EST, November 29th, 2004
MacMice has started taking pre-orders for its new GarageKey USB-MIDI Keyboard, with shipping guaranteed in time for Christmas.
The clear acrylic white GarageKey USB-MIDI keyboard is the only keyboard on the market designed exclusively for use by Apple GarageBand users who want a small, elegantly styled keyboard. The GarageKey features 37 full-size, professional quality, velocity sensitive keys, as well as octave up and down buttons discretely placed on the rear panel. The GarageKey also includes clear acrylic riser legs that permit using the GarageKey sitting between an Apple wired or wireless keyboard and a display. There is space underneath the GarageKey for stowing away an Apple keyboard, as well.
GarageKey will begin shipping on December 12th for $119.99.
Observer Comments
No Pitchbend/Mod Wheel. Octave buttons are placed inconveniently. This will be a dud except to only the absolute most amateur of users. M-Audio's keystation 49e has 49 keys, pitchbend and modulation wheels, octave keys in a more usable position and the mrsp is only $10 more.
The only plus for the GarageKey is the risers. I'd love some risers like that for my MicroKorg.
