Belkin USB 2.0 4-Port Hub Mimics Mac mini, iPod shuffle Looks
by , 6:00 AM EDT, April 27th, 2005
Belkin has introduced a new USB 2.0 four-port hub that complements the look and feel of the iPod shuffle and the Mac mini. Shipping June 3 for US$29.95, the hub features a top-loading port as well as three ports in the back. It can connect up to two devices before needing a power adapter, which is included. The hub also ships with a USB 2.0 cable. Mac OS X v10.2.7 is required.

Very nice, but sadly enough the only good thing I have to say about Belkin is that I'm glad I no longer own any Belkin products. Every single Belkin producct (other than simple cables) I've ever purchased had massive problems. I would like to think this one might be different, but I doubt it. ![]()

This is the second device modeled on the Mac mini I have seen. The other is the Micronet mini mate combo drive, usb hub and firewire hub. Just as the iMac set off an avalanch of translucent plastic devces. The Mini looks as if it will set the style for attractive external boxes. Folks we have a winner here.
Just so you don't charge me with excessive objectivity, I am a Mac mini owner.
