Imation Ships 4GB Micro Hard Drive

Imation on Wednesday started shipping the 4GB version of its Micro Hard Drive. The diminutive drive, which resembles a padlock, features a flexible USB port that can be used to secure it to a belt loop, carrying bag or other location.

The Micro Hard Drive comes with 128-bit encryption for securing data and ships with Imation Security Manager, an application that enables synchronizing and backing up files. Imation said that next month it will make available an upgrade that improves the software and makes it compatible with Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger."

Pricing is US$189. Mac OS X v10.2 is required. Imation also has a 2GB version available.
