Dragon FliX Compresses Dual Layer Movies to DVD-R Discs

by , 1:00 PM EST, February 27th, 2006

NewTech Infosystems, Inc. (NTI) on Monday released Dragon FliX, an application that compresses an unencrypted 8.5GB dual-layer movie so that it fits on a 4.7GB single-layer disc. Users can compress and copy an entire disc or just the main movie; with the latter option, the film starts playing as soon as the disc is inserted in a player, with no menus present.

Dragon FliX also features the ability to simultaneously burn the same movie to multiple DVD burners. Pricing is US$39.99. Mac OS X v10.2.8 or higher is required.

Something tells me more people will use this software for illegal purposes than legal ones...

What about DVD2OneX.

I've used this a lot, and it works well.

There's OSX and Windows for your PC people out there.

Subject: "Unencrypted*" only ???

Yeah, read their web site: it says " With Dragon FliX, users can compress an unencrypted* 8.5GB dual-layer movie down to the 4.7GB single-layer size".

Notice the * -- How many "unencrypted" DVD's are there out there that are dual-layer ---> ZERO?

So, how is this any different than DVD2One ???

It only works with "Unencrypted"
