Lexar's Adobe CS2 Plug-In Enables Faster Digital Photo Transfers

Lexar Media, Inc. on Monday introduced Lexar Smart Download, an Adobe Creative Suite 2 (CS2) plug-in that offers faster downloads of digital photos through Adobe Bridge. The software also enables users to take advantage of the company's ActiveMemory System, which stores preferences and host device settings in a protected area on CompactFlash and Secure Digital memory cards that feature the technology.

Lexar Smart Download also enables users to manage multiple concurrent downloads with Lexar's Professional FireWire and USB 2.0 CompactFlash Readers. In addition, it supports downloads to primary and secondary folders simultaneously, as well as the ability to organize images by date during the downloading process.

Lexar expects to ship the software by the end of March for US$29.95. It will also soon be included with all of the company's ActiveMemory CompactFlash and Secure Digital storage cards. Mac OS X v10.4 or Windows XP/200 will be required. A product page was not available on Lexar's Web site as The Mac Observer posted this article.
