FastMac Cuts G3 PowerBook Upgrade Pricing

FastMac on Friday dropped the price of its G3 to G4 PowerBook upgrade by US$50, to $239.95, and added an option to upgrade to Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger" for an additional $59.95. The upgrade includes a G4 550MHz processor with 1MB of backside cache and includes a free copy of Mac OS X v10.3 "Panther."
The company offers a standard upgrade, which consists of three-way shipping and a 7-to-10-day turnaround, as well as an advanced exchange option in which the customer receives a new logic board, installs it, and sends the old one back. A security deposit is required for the latter.
