Jupiter Research: No Leopard Delay

by , 8:15 AM EDT, March 26th, 2007

Following rumors that Apple is delaying the release of Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), Jupiter Research analyst Michael Gartenberg said it isn't so. He stated "Just spoke with Apple who confirmed the reports are wrong and Leopard is still scheduled to ship in this spring as they previously announced."

Apple's comments were in response to a report from DigiTimes claiming that Leopard was being delayed until October to add enhanced support for Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system. Rumors and speculation about the actual ship date of Leopard are all over the board and range from March 27 to DigiTime's report of some time in October.

The most likely window for unveiling Mac OS X 10.5 will be at Apple's World Wide Developer Conference where the company will have the full attention of developers and the media. The Wold Wide Developer Conference starts on June 11 in San Francisco.

I am waiting for Leopard to appear. At present I oown a PC with Windows XP. I wish the Apple Company stop playing games with the release of their new OS and bring it out (of course with the bugs ironed out) soon.
