Pirates of Silicon Valley on Google Video

by , 1:55 PM EDT, April 25th, 2007

The 1999 TV movie, Pirates of Silicon Valley, starring Noah Wyle and Anthony Michael Hall is now available to watch free on Google Video.

The movie goes back in time, looks at Steve Jobs' and Bill Gates' early life, the development of the Apple II by Woz, the founding of Microsoft, and the origins of the life-long competition between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.

The video quality is not terrific, but for those who've only heard about the movie and want to check it out, it's good enough. There are no commercials. The scenes with Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer as college roommates are priceless.

The movie can be viewed at Google Videos.

At the end of the movie, there is a frame that addresses the status of microsoft/windows vs Apple/Mac. They need to update the frame, or add another frame. Steve Jobs is back with Apple. Apple has had added a few important victories since the time this movie came out.

Will it be available at the iTunes Store? That would be insanely great

I remember watching it when it was originally aired, it was too bad of a movie.

I checked out the movie at Google. Yes the quality isn't too great, but it is better than a lot that is on YouTube.

I enjoy living vicariously through this movie. I've probably seen it 20 or 30 times, but it's been a couple years since I lost the copy I used to keep on my hard drive. Sad, I know, but good times none the less.
