REAL SQL Server 2008 Release 1 Ships at Macworld

REAL Software on Tuesday said that Release 1 of REAL SQL Server 2008 will ship during this week’s Macworld Expo. The new version of the multi-user database server features better SQL standards compliance and better PHP compatibility on Macs running Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard and Linux.

A single server that supports unlimited users is US$500, while a five-pack is $2,000 and a ten-pack is $3,000. A 12-month unlimited deployment license sells for $9,000 and allows developers to bundle REAL SQL Server with a custom application and sell an unlimited number of servers for a fixed price.

REAL also offers a SQL Server Developer Edition that’s free to developers.
