Computing with Bifocals - Keep Frequently Used Disks Organized with Disk-it

Disk-it is a small spherical shaped, 2.5 inch wide by 2 inch tall gadget that safely holds up to 8 CDs, CD-Rs, CD-ROMs, DVDs and game discs that a user wants to keep handy, yet safe.  Available in translucent red, white, translucent blue, or black.  There is also a solid stainless steel model available by special order.

Disk-it

The disks stacked on this gadget simply do not touch each other.  To separate and protect each disk from the others, the Disc-it  makes use of an integral stacking ring that is built around the hole of all discs that have been manufactured within the last 10 years. This ring is molded into the disc and is there to separate the discs from each other when they are stacked, shipped, handled, and loaded into a disc-drive. I found it quite easy to place a disc on the Disc-it without really paying any special attention to what I was doing.  No matter what I did, the discs did not touch each other.  A left handed friend reported the same results when he tried it out.  The fact that it only holds 8 disks at a time seems to be a planned number.  The stated purpose is to keep handy those disks that I am actively using.  It meets that need perfectly.

The Disc-it is small, attractive, unique, and efficient.

It is immediately obvious that this product lends itself to advertising logos and the corporate web site emphasizes that aspect, including offering bulk pricing.  However, at $4.95 it  makes a nice addition to your own desk.  If you tend to keep a cluttered desk, go for the translucent red or blue.  They are easier to find amidst the clutter.
